Edmunds Lists New Cars To Watch Out For In 2019

It's official: Edmunds, one of the top online resources for your car questions and more, has released its list of top 2019 car and truck models to watch out for. Considering that vehicle buyers spend roughly 59% of their time doing research online, this list is superbly helpful.

Highlighting styles like trucks and new electric vehicles, the automotive resource has predicted the top ten best vehicles on the market right now and coming soon across a number of different manufacturers. One of the cars to look out for? The comeback of the BMW 8 Series Coupe.

It was 100 years ago this year that Bayerische Motoren Werke (German for Bavarian Motor Works) began, first creating aircraft engines, later following that success with motorcycles and cars. In celebrating 100 years of BMW and the modern luxury cars that they make today, Mattel released the Hot Wheels BMW Series as a Walmart Exclusive this spring. Featuring eight classic designs, these cars have been speeding in-and-out of stores in a flash, so  I'm giving readers of THE ROCK FATHER Magazine a chance to win a full set of eight! Ready to rock?

When it comes to toy cars and trucks with motorized lights and sounds, the folks at Toy State lead the pack, hands-down. While they've got several different lines to play with, their house-brand Road Rippers are usually the showcase for the more unique or off-the-wall functions - officially-licensed replicas with some interesting surprises packed under the hood, so to speak. One nameplate that's received the Road Rippers treatment on more than a few occasions is the Mini Cooper S., and one of the latest models to rock the road comes from the Road Rippers Dancing Car assortment.

Toy State Test DriverWhat exactly are "Skidders," you ask? Part of the Road Rippers line from Toy State, the Skidders are electronic vehicles that have lights, sound, music and motion - all working together to get the rides rockin' down the road before coming to a dramatic, fish-tailing stop or "skid." In other words, they're a kid-magnet, and while the line has been out for a few years now, as a 2014 Toy State Test Driver, the girls and I have been able to take the latest model for a spin, right here at Rock Father HQ. New for summer 2014, the Mini Cooper Countryman WRC joins the Dodge Ram Power Wagon, Chevrolet Camaro and Ford Mustang 5.0 in the Road Rippers Skidders fleet. The 2014 Chicago Auto Show opened it's doors to the public this weekend (running through February 17th), but on Friday, The Rock Father participated in the media preview to get an early look at hundreds of new offerings and concept vehicles from the world's top automakers. Doing what I do, I'm always torn on how to cover such an event - I run a "family" site, but my personal interests skew toward the... more exciting at times. While my daily drivers here at Rock Father HQ bear the Chevrolet and Scion nameplates, performance, sport and luxury all strike my fancy. What I'm saying is that my inaugural coverage of the Chicago Auto Show is more of a highlight reel of what caught my eye... and that's as simple as it gets. Hopefully I'll get to go in-depth with some of these vehicles, as well as some more family-centric rides as the year rolls on.
