Star Wars x Sperry brings The Force to Your Feet

Written by

Star Wars-inspired shoes are hardly a new thing. In fact, my closet currently houses Star Wars-themed shoes from both Vans and Crocs. Over the years, other players have been in the game as well, with brands like Adidas and Sketchers in the mix, but until now the folks at SPERRY have been patiently awaiting their trip to a galaxy far, far away. Officially announced this week, STAR WARS x SPERRY is a celebration of the 40th Anniversary of 1977's STAR WARS (aka STAR WARS: EPISODE IV - A NEW HOPE), with a collection of five all-new pairs of shoes that take specific inspiration from the film that started it all. These will be available beginning August 10, exclusively from Sperry...

The McQuarrie Cloud Slip-on: "Walk back in time to the humble beginnings of what would become the classic Star Wars saga in the McQuarrie Cloud Slip-On. This shoe, exclusively available at sperry.com, features concept art that was designed by Ralph McQuarrie before any of the films were produced. The McQuarrie sketches featured on these shoes depict the now famous scenes of the X-Wing™ flight to destroy the Death Star™, and the ultimate battle between Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker. This pair pays tribute to all the hard work that went into bringing George Lucas’ vision to life."

StarWars Sperry Empire

THE DEATH STAR Cloud CVO: "Feel the power of the dark side with this black CVO, a tribute to the evil Empire. A laser green citron accent represents the planet-destroying beam of the Empire’s most powerful weapon, the Death Star. The Imperial symbol rests on battle-worn canvas, tattered from their struggle to extinguish the Rebellion once and for all."

THE DROIDS Cloud Slip-on: “These are the droids you’re looking for.” Join C- 3PO™ and R2-D2™ on their quest to deliver the Death Star™ plans to Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi in hopes of destroying the Empire’s most powerful weapon. The two are seen here wandering through the barren deserts of Tatooine™ in the search for Obi-Wan – a fateful journey that would turn these bumbling droids into a pair of unlikely heroes."

StarWars Sperry Rebel

THE REBEL PILOT Cloud CVO: "Gear up for your attack run on the Death Star with the Rebel Pilot CVO. The battle-worn orange canvas is the color of the X-Wing pilot jumpsuits, and an element of hero Luke Skywalker’s helmet decal comes through in the silver and yellow heel stripe. With the Rebel symbol featured on the side, no one can mistake whose side you’re on."

THE HAN & CHEWIE Cloud Slip-on: "Climb aboard the Millennium Falcon with most famous smugglers in the galaxy, Han Solo and Chewbacca. This pair of scoundrels were called upon to help Luke and Obi-Wan deliver the Death Star™ plans to the Rebellion but instead found themselves on a journey to save the galaxy."
