It should be no secret to readers of this site or those who know me well that FAITH NO MORE are my favorite band of all-time. If not for them, this site probably wouldn't exist (story here) - their presence felt daily (even my ringtone is "Absolute Zero"). The past few years have been a great time to be a FNM fan. They reactivated in 2009, released a new record in 2015, reissued Deluxe Editions of 1989's THE REAL THING and 1992's ANGEL DUST, and I was able to see them twice here in Chicago last year. Now comes news that following the August 19th "Deluxe Band Edition" of 1985's WE CARE A LOT being issued through Bill Gould's Kool Arrow Records, Rhino will issue Deluxe Editions of 1995's KING FOR A DAY... FOOL FOR A LIFETIME and 1997's ALBUM OF THE YEAR, each remastered and packed with bonus material. Available on September 9 and up for pre-order now, you can see the tracklistings below...
I still remember the first time I saw KISS - it was on television, probably around 1980 or so, and I was at my cousin's house. I thought they were bizarre - but I was only four or so, and my mastery of The Force knowledge of rock was still a long way off. Decades later, KISS still puts on a Hell of a show, and on August 26th a new concert film is bringing them back into our homes with the Eagle Rock Entertainment release of KISS ROCKS VEGAS - available in several configurations, including the audio-only on vinyl, digital and CD. Today comes an extended clip of "Rock and Roll All Nite" - check it out!
We're reached that weird point of the year here at Rock Father HQ where the Back-to-School season is about to hit full swing, but it feels like summer never really got to hit its stride. For us it's probably because we had The Rock Daughters™ in summer programs all the way through June (no break between the end of school and the start of those), but even if we hadn't - is summer really ever long enough? For many, August will bring that long-awaited road trip, or perhaps another type of sunny vacation to give the too-short season a send-off. Speaking of a "sunny vacation," that's just what Peppa Pig is taking with her family in her latest DVD release, appropriately-titled, PEPPA PIG: SUNNY VACATION! Out August 2 through 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment, the new collection features the 4-part "Sunny Vacation" special, plus 8 additional fun-packed Peppisodes. After thinking of the true renaissance that Peppa Pig is currently enjoying and what big fans the girls are (we have the toys from Jazwares, the Softee-Dough from Cra-Z-Art, t-shirts for each girl and the "Muddy Puddles" song is sung often), perhaps we should give Peppa and her family a "sunny vacation" (or a sunny "holiday," as they'd say in Peppa's UK homeland) right here? And, it would give me a fine excuse for a little #Toyography and a chance to give all of you at home a chance to win PEPPA PIG: SUNNY VACATION on DVD!
You heard it here first that LAURA MARANO's version of the theme song from MIRACULOUS: TALES OF LADYBUG & CAT NOIR would have its music video premiere at San Diego Comic-Con, and with that behind us, the video is online thanks to Nickelodeon. Take a peek below, and read-on for what's next for MIRACULOUS!
"A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Marvel Studios' CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging superhero in SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING" - That's the early synopsis given for the first SPIDER-MAN film to officially be a part of the MARVEL Cinematic Universe in a collaboration between MARVEL Studios and SONY. Tonight at San Diego Comic-Con, the film's villain was revealed to be The Vulture, with concept art posted by the team at MARVEL.com. Additionally, some additional credits confirm that Tony Stark (if not Iron Man) will be making an appearance when the film swings into theaters on July 7, 2017.
While word is that fans at San Diego Comic-Con just got their first look at GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Vol. 2, I'm told we won't be seeing that footage online just yet. Those who are eager for something from GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY can check out the video below, in which Joe Rohde of Disney Imagineering details plans for Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT!, a new immersive experience coming to Disney's California Adventure theme park in 2017. Aside from that, we've got a look at the new logos and cast announcements for some upcoming entries into the MARVEL Cinematic Universe, including GOTG2, BLACK PANTHER (Starring Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira), THOR: RAGNAROK and CAPTAIN MARVEL (Brie Larson as Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers), in addition to a behind-the-scenes featurette on Black Panther from the upcoming CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR in-home release.
