Giveaway: KUBO AND THE TWO STRINGS Prize Pack!

This month, one of our most-anticipated films of 2016 arrives in theaters with Focus Features' release of KUBO AND THE TWO STRINGS (get tix via Fandango), the latest cinematic adventure fro LAIKA, the studio behind THE BOXTROLLS and CORALINE. With a magical instrument at the heart of the tale, my curiosity was piqued from the very first teaser, and to celebrate the release, Focus Features and THE ROCK FATHER Magazine have partnered to give readers a chance to score a fun KUBO AND THE  TWO STRINGS Prize Pack!

We all know and love LEGO® for their iconic bricks and building sets, along with their growing collection of pop culture mashups, crossovers and fictional works like LEGO STAR WARS, The LEGO Movie, LEGO Dimensions and  the forthcoming The LEGO BATMAN Movie. While you know those, what you might not be familiar with is LEGO Nonfiction - the result of two powerhouse brands, LEGO and Scholastic, coming together to reinvent children's nonfiction publishing for kids ages 4-12. In this innovative new publishing program, LEGO models and minifigures are illustrated in fun and fantastic scenarios throughout as the first point of engagement for kids with real-world topics. This program represents a marriage of core values between LEGO and Scholastic: imagination, creativity, fun, and learning, as well as providing the most engaging, educational information for children. To celebrate the collaboration, THE ROCK FATHER™ Magazine has partnered with Scholastic to give readers a shot at winning a fantastic LEGO Nonfiction Prize Pack that includes the first four books in the collection, plus a $50 LEGO Gift Card! Netflix #StreamTeamOne of this year's most surprising new series' for families comes from Netflix, with BEAT BUGS bridging generations by introducing new listeners to the music of THE BEATLES through the adventures of five best friends -- Jay, Kumi, Crick, Buzz and Walter -- who band together to discover life's most important lessons in an overgrown suburban backyard, which to them is their entire universe. When the first 13-episode season began streaming earlier this month, it was an immediate hit right out of the gate here at Rock Father HQ, but for us it came with a challenge posited by the leaders of the Netflix #StreamTeam, a crew I've been a part of for the past three years: Cover "All You Need Is Love" and invite all of you to do the same. BEAT BUGS opens with a 30-second rendition of the 1967 single from the Lennon-McCartney songbook, and just as the original is said to have taken 33 takes to get right, The Rock Daughters™ and I (with Mommy behind the camera) couldn't quite nail it in one shot...

Giveaway: Win a SING STREET Prize Pack!

Inspired by writer/director John Carney’s (ONCE, BEGIN AGAIN) life and love for music, SING STREET is one of 2016's best films - a comedic coming-of-age story that shows us a world where music has the power to take us away from the turmoil of everyday life and transform us into something greater. The film is a personal favorite, an inspiring tale with a killer soundtrack packed with 80s hits. Now available to own and watch on Blu-ray, DVD, Digital HD and On-Demand (check out Go Watch It for purchase locations), my friends at Anchor Bay Entertainment have teamed-up with THE ROCK FATHER Magazine to get one lucky reader hooked up with a copy of SING STREET on DVD, plus a $25 iTunes Gift Card to purchase the SING STREET Original Motion Picture Soundtrack! We're reached that weird point of the year here at Rock Father HQ where the Back-to-School season is about to hit full swing, but it feels like summer never really got to hit its stride. For us it's probably because we had The Rock Daughters™ in summer programs all the way through June (no break between the end of school and the start of those), but even if we hadn't - is summer really ever long enough? For many, August will bring that long-awaited road trip, or perhaps another type of sunny vacation to give the too-short season a send-off. Speaking of a "sunny vacation," that's just what Peppa Pig is taking with her family in her latest DVD release, appropriately-titled, PEPPA PIG: SUNNY VACATION! Out August 2 through 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment, the new collection features the 4-part "Sunny Vacation" special, plus 8 additional fun-packed Peppisodes. After thinking of the true renaissance that Peppa Pig is currently enjoying and what big fans the girls are (we have the toys from Jazwares, the Softee-Dough from Cra-Z-Art, t-shirts for each girl and the "Muddy Puddles" song is sung often), perhaps we should give Peppa and her family a "sunny vacation" (or a sunny "holiday," as they'd say in Peppa's UK homeland) right here? And, it would give me a fine excuse for a little #Toyography and a chance to give all of you at home a chance to win PEPPA PIG: SUNNY VACATION on DVD!

What do our pets do when we leave the house for the day? That's the question that THE SECRET LIFE OF PETS will answer, the fifth fully-animated feature-film collaboration from Illumination Entertainment and Universal Pictures. Personally, I like to think that our dogs are all like Leonard - a prissy creature that cranks up the SYSTEM OF A DOWN the second we're out the door. I know better with our dogs, but one can only hope. With the film in theaters everywhere, Universal Pictures and Big Heart Brands have partnered with THE ROCK FATHER Magazine to give readers a shot at scoring a sweet THE SECRET LIFE OF PETS Prize Pack geared toward pet parents of canine companions. Ready to Rock?
