MARVEL's IRON MAN 3 will be hitting theaters in just a few weeks (May 3, 2013), and the onslaught of cool merch and new toys has begun. For older kids or the "adult collector" comes new offerings in the MARVEL Selects line from Diamond Select Toys. First up are the IRON MAN 3 Mark 42 Figure and the War Machine. Both figures were sculpted by Gentle Giant based on digital data, and feature incredible likenesses of actors Robert Downey Jr. and Don Cheadle. The folks at Diamond Select hit The Rock Father with some fresh pics of both, and I'm sharing them with you below...

You just never know what a child will gravitate toward. Despite having countless toys of her own, at some point within the past year, Adalyn grew fond of a plush bear by the name of Poopsie. Created in 2001 by Ty Inc. and released as both a Beanie Baby and Beanie Buddy, Poopsie is essentially A.A. Milne's Winnie the Pooh, crafted to appear similar in shape to "Classic Pooh," but in a color scheme closer to Disney's more mainstream version. I bought Poopsie for my wife long before we ever considered having kids.

Good news for the residents of Enchancia - Disney Junior has ordered a second season of their hit series, SOFIA THE FIRST. With the first season having made it's debut just two months ago, SOFIA's popularity was practically instantaneous, as the series now tops the charts for Kids 2-5, Girls 2-5, and Boys 2-5. It's also a big hit here at Rock Father HQ, with the DVR set to record new episodes each Friday.

Disney INFINITY looks dangerously cool. I say dangerously, because there's some time and money to be invested here, and I have a feeling that it could become a fixture here at Rock Father HQ this summer. Yesterday, the folks at Disney Interactive hit me with all the details on the fourth play set for Disney INFINITY, one based on the world of CARS. Need I say that Addie will probably love this?

I'm bummed that I'm not going to Toy Fair. Eventually I'll figure out a good way to cover out-of-town events, but for now I'm pretty busy here at Rock Father HQ with The Rock Daughters. In the meantime, folks like the crew over at Disney Consumer Products are still kind enough to share some news with me, and tonight I've got a sneak-preview of Disney's Hot Toys of 2013... complete with pre-Toy Fair pictures. I already see a few items that are destined to arrive here later this year...

Just over 31 years ago (November 28, 1981 to be exact), my parents took me to the Chicago Stadium for something special. The "World Premiere Edition" of WALT DISNEY PRODUCTIONS' WORLD ON ICE promised "a whole new concept in live and in person entertainment for every member of the family." It delivered on that promise, becoming forever a part of my most cherished childhood memories.
