SOFIA THE FIRST has been a staple here at Rock Father HQ since it started airing on Disney Junior earlier this year. That said, my girls will be pretty excited to learn that the adventure is going beyond Enchanica, and onto the seas when SOFIA THE FIRST: THE FLOATING PALACE arrives next month. Premiering SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 24 (7:00 p.m., ET/PT) on the Disney Channel and THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 28 (7:00 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Junior, Sofia's first primetime special features an appearance from a true Disney legend - Princess Ariel, THE LITTLE MERMAID herself. Check out a preview below...

Next year, Disney XD will begin airing their new original animated series, STAR WARS REBELS. Announced this past May (and covered on The Rock Father, here), the series takes place in the roughly 20-year gap between STAR WARS EPISODE III: REVENGE OF THE SITH and STAR WARS EPISODE IV: A NEW HOPE... in other words, an era where an Old Trilogy guy like myself could see some familiar characters out and about. The first teaser is online, and it's just that - a teaser. Watch all 15-seconds of it below...

What's going on in the House of Mouse? A lot, as news from the various divisions of Disney continues to hit Rock Father HQ at a rapid pace. Read on for updates on new Apps from Disney Interactive, the music of FROZEN, some freebies from THE LITTLE MERMAID, updates from Disney Junior and more.

We're really excited about this. On November 19, Disney's PLANES is coming home on Blu-Ray and DVD. We've already had a great time visiting Propwash Junction and staging our own "Wings Across the World" race here at Rock Father HQ (check out our adventure here), and now we'll be able to watch the adventures of Dusty Crophopper and the gang whenever we'd like. Check out an 8-minute extended preview of Disney's PLANES below, along with full details on the home release...

I am a Feld Family Ambassador, and this post is brought to you as part of that relationship. All opinions are my own.

Disney On Ice is officially a family tradition. Back in January, I posted some thoughts about taking our oldest daughter, Addie, to see Disney On Ice for the very first time - a production of Rockin' Ever After at the Allstate Arena. Fast-forward nine months, and the crew from Feld Entertainment is back in Chicago with Disney On Ice celebrates 100 Years of Magic at the United Center... directly across the street from the site of the old Chicago Stadium... the same place that I first saw Disney On Ice back in 1981. This time around was another first... Little Finley, at only 15-months-old, would get her first Disney On Ice experience.

When Disney•Pixar released CARS in 2006, I had no idea that I'd one day be a parent... much less be The Rock Father. Fast-forward seven years, and I'm not only raising two octane-obsessed daughters, but CARS has become a permanent part of the pop culture landscape. Now, with the recent release of the animated spin-off, Disney PLANES, the girls and I have started to create our own adventures high above the World of Cars, recently expanding our toy collection with some new characters from Mattel's extensive line of CARS and PLANES vehicles. The area in and around Rock Father HQ is a big world to explore... and a fun one where the girls and I discovered Propwash Junction and staged our own Wings Across the World race.
