It's been a very long time since I did a "Toddler Jukebox" column here on The Rock Father, but now the time has come to dust it off as a regular feature. When I did the first couple, I had an actual toddler in the house, but with Addie now a preschooler and Finn still an infant, I'm questioning the use of "toddler" in the name. The original concept was that Addie would grab a CD from the archives here at Rock Father HQ and I'd be forced to listen to it as an opportunity to revisit some songs from days long since passed. While I might still have the kids pull random selections on occasion, I'm looking at this as a way to revisit the past through my little ones - some pre-Fatherhood rock explored with a new generation. What better way to start then with an album called AGES 3 AND UP?

It's a video that's been floating around for a couple of years now (33K+ plays on YouTube thus far), but one that deserves to be shared some more. Take two of my favorite bands - THE AQUABATS! and THE ROCK-AFIRE EXPLOSION - and put them together. What happens? Well, if you haven't seen it already, you just need to watch the video below, then... don't you?

The weather here in Northern Illinois is unseasonably warm today. As the temperature neared 70 degrees this afternoon, our family worked to put up the outside Christmas lights while thinking about the road ahead. With the Holiday Season in full-effect, we'll be putting a lot of miles on the car as we catch up with family members that are scattered. Being "The Rock Father," the folks at Kia Motors asked if I had any suggestions for some songs well-suited for a Rockin' Holiday Road Trip Playlist, and I certainly do. While the official press release hasn't landed here yet (hopefully they don't forget about me), The Aquabats! revealed on Facebook earlier this evening that they've been given the greenlight for Season Two of THE AQUABATS! SUPER SHOW! New episodes will air on The Hub beginning in the Spring of 2013. While there isn't a ton of info just yet, the 'Bats promise "NEW EPISODES! NEW VILLAINS! OLD HEROES!"

Somehow the announcement for this one slid under the radar here at Rock Father HQ, but YO GABBA GABBA! has a new compilation in-stores this week. MUSIC IS AWESOME: VOLUME 4 features 25-tracks that find the stars of the Nick Jr. hit show - DJ Lance Rock, Muno, Plex, Foofa, Toodee, and Brobee - joined by the likes of THE ROOTS, ROCKET FROM THE CRYPT, GEORGE CLINTON, THE AQUABATS!, CUT COPY, METRIC, and more. Pack up the kids and hop in The BattleTram, because it's time for an adventure. In what seems like it should've been an obvious move in the first place, the folks at Fearless Records announced this afternoon that THE AQUABATS! now have children's clothing available! I hope this means that THE AQUABATS! SUPER SHOW! is doing big numbers, because it needs to continue. Not since the 80s have I religiously cared about a Saturday Morning Television offering.

THE AQUABATS! SUPER SHOW! is the first Saturday Morning television offering to get me excited since the mid-1980's, and with it's third episode premiering this Saturday on The Hub (guest-starring NAPOLEON DYNAMITE's Jon Heder), excitement for the rash guard-wearing super-rockers is at an all-time high. Frontman MC Bat Commander recently took to The Social Network Facebook to answer some fan questions, one of which involved rock icon and frequent punchline, Glenn Danzig.

''Crash is kidnapped by a villain who's half-man, half-ant! That's bad enough -- but ManAnt also has evil plans to grow a whole army of giant ants!'' reads the official description for the series premiere of THE AQUABATS! SUPER SHOW! which aired the past Saturday on The Hub. Yes, the long-awaited (by people like me) Aquabats! show has arrived - but how is it?

THE AQUABATS! SUPER SHOW! is coming to The Hub for it's premiere this Saturday (March 3, 2012 at 11am ET/8am PT), and that's something I've been excited about for quite some time. Today The Hub not only updated their official site with a homepage takeover and some hidden goodies, but they've released a new clip in the form of a music video for 'Burger Rain.'

I have been eagerly awaiting the debut of THE AQUABATS! SUPER SHOW! since it was formally announced last summer, and after getting picked up by THE HUB last Fall, it's finally making it's debut.  On Saturday, March 3 (at 1pm ET with encore performances throughout the week), the new series from the co-creator of YO GABBA GABBA! will have it's official premiere, bringing to life the adventures of ''a popular alternative rock band as they embark on a never-ending quest to right wrongs, destroy boredom and seek justice for all in an inventive blend of live-action and animated crime-fighting spoofs.'' I don't know about you, but this sounds like a perfect show for The Rock Father™ and his daughter to watch and rock out to! I'm setting my DVR right now...
